Happy New Year to you all! We hope you had an enjoyable and safe holiday period.
After an enjoyable holiday break, we are back in the swing of things for 2018, with planning for our upcoming sporting and educational tours, both abroad and throughout Australia well underway.
January in Australia is one of our favourite times of the year when we are spoiled for choice with quality sporting events. Between the summer of cricket, the Australian Open tennis in Melbourne and the NFL finals, there is plenty to action for sporting fans.
The NFL conference finals are being decided as we speak with Super Bowl LII fast approaching and many of the usual suspects in the mix. Super Bowl LII is being held in Minneapolis and with the Vikings still in the hunt after their amazing win against the Saints, it would be quite a sight to see them make the big stage. For NFL fans out there, who are you tipping to take out the title?
Congratulations to both the men’s and women’s Aussie cricket teams for their convincing Ashes series wins against England. There were some absolutely phenomenal personal performances by the likes of Ellyse Perry, Steve Smith, Shaun Marsh and our bowling attack.
2017 was an amazing year for woman’s sport and it is great to see that 2018 looks to be even bigger. After the success of the inaugural AFLW league, the NRL and ARU have announced woman’s competitions launching in 2018. The Matilda’s enjoyed an enormously successful year taking out the Tournament of Nations title that included a resounding 6-1 win over Brazil. Woman’s surfing, golf and tennis are also continuing to grow from strength to strength.
The positive effect the increase in focus and opportunity in woman’s sport is evident in the number of girl’s schools contacting us looking to tour. With a wider variety of woman’s team sports now on offer and an increase in opportunities to play abroad, we welcome the opportunity to work with more woman’s teams at both adult and school level to help develop their skills and create more memorable experiences that touring provides.
