The Super Rugby season commenced over the weekend, which is the official launch of the 2018 rugby season. The Australian franchises kick off their campaign this weekend, all looking to improve on last year’s performances. The New Zealand teams continue to provide the benchmark and will be tough to beat.
In the April school holidays, St Stanislaus’ College Bathurst will embark on a rugby tour of Fiji. The school visited Fiji in 2016 and established an excellent relationship with St Vincent’s in Natovi. The group will again visit St Vincent’s and undertake some service work, helping the community with building projects, farming and teaching. The group will board at the College in the remote area of the country.
Stannies will play 3 games around Fiji, taking on Cuvu College in Sigatoka, Lelean Memorial School in Nausori and Queen Victoria School in Lawaki. Queen Victoria School has only recently reopened after the devastating Cyclone Winston.
It is great to see touring teams embrace the community service aspect of touring Fiji and visit remote parts of this beautiful country. It is incredibly rewarding to all who attend and something that the local community is grateful for.
Estilo have been privileged to build some amazing relationships in Fiji and help their communities with fundraising, local employment and sports donations. A huge thank you to all our touring groups who have donated gear and boots to our recent boot drives.
